Interestingly (and sadly), this relates conceptually to the genetic approach of animalistic evolution where organisms "pass DOWN" (and not "UP") their genes to the next generations... the declivity is steep!!! So the process of genetic evolution is directed downwards... This goes even further, it can be found in the popular religious beliefs, where humans after committing a "sin" "descended" to earth (punishment) and supposedly "ascend" after death (reward)... how about the concept of the "fallen angel"? Well, how about we ASCEND while still being alive???
